Dean Gaynor

Dean Patrick Gaynor, 50, of Frostburg, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born on February 23, 1968, in Cumberland, he was the son of Kay Gaynor.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparent, Wilma Wilson; maternal grandparents, Patrick and Catherine “Girt” Purbaugh; uncles, Patrick and Jim Purbaugh; and step-son, Raymond Talbot.

Dean was a U.S. Army veteran and later served with the Civil Air Patrol, Cumberland.  He was a 1986 graduate of Beall High school and Vo-Tech and was a machinist with Cambridge Scales of Cumberland.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Laura Gaynor; step kids, Mandy Rice and husband Shawn, Richard Lowry and companion Carrie James, Alvin Lowry Jr., 11 grandkids, which he loved dearly; brother, Darin Gaynor; niece, Kelly Gaynor, nephews, Ryan and Zach Gaynor; Aunt Karen Thompson and husband Phil, Melinda Fiscus and husband Terry; special friends, Libby and Joe Ullman, Daniel and Lilly Mallory, Matt Combs, Jerry Wilhelm; and his beloved pet companions, Duzi and Squirt.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD on Friday, April 20, 2018 at noon with Pastor Michael Lantz officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to services.

Interment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by Farrady Post #24 American Legion Honor Guard.

Pallbearers are Ryan Gaynor, Richard Lowry, Alvin Lowry, Matt Combs, Joe Ullman and Shawn Rice; honorary pallbearers are Zach Gaynor and Trenton Kile.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the funeral home to help with funeral expense.
