Dale Lee Sturtz

age 57, was handed his angel wings as he passed at home on Wednesday, October 28, 2014. Born August 18, 1957 of Mt. Savage, Maryland to Goldie P. Sturtz and the late Robert Sylvester Sturtz; a 1975 graduate of Mt. Savage High School, and emeritus of Frostburg State University of thirty-one years of service.

Dale’s devotion for many years with his “partner in crime”, Johnny Stark, of Frostburg, began the restoration of automobiles and most recently a 1951 Jeep Willy CJ3A; as Dale’s particular hobby succumbed to his most recent health complications. Dale leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years Karen Davis-Sturtz, daughter Pamela Sturtz-Mielnick, son-in-law Brett Mielnick, and his canine “sidekick” grand-doggie Cody, of Tampa, FL. Brother, Robert L. Sturtz and sister-in-law Lorraine Propst-Sturtz of Frederick, cherished “Sweet-Pea” Lisa and husband Dave Stark of Frostburg, Bonnie Cornwell and fiancé Dirk Brubaker of Cumberland, brother-in-law Jeff Davis and Rhonda Ammons of Flintstone, an exceptional family friend Heidi “Heidi-Do” Holler – Patterson of Commodore, PA, as well as numerous cousins and special Aunts Mary J. Baer, of Frostburg, and Jane Baker, of Wellersburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to an animal shelter of choice or Frankie’s Friends, a non-profit foundation dedicated to saving canines with cancer and other catastrophic diseases ( http://www.frankiesfriends.com ). Dale’s memory will live in the hearts of his family through his strength and courage.

Dale was cremated in accordance to his wishes, and a private Funeral Service will be held.
