Dale Murray Sr.

Dale Devon Murray, Sr., 80, of Vale Summit, Frostburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

Born on May 11, 1941, to the late Clay Murray and Elise Fuller, he was the youngest of 18 siblings.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Dale D. Murray Jr.; brothers, Frank Murray, Bill Murray, Mike Murray, and Roy Murray; sisters, Betty Gaumer, Marcella Murray, Alma Gomer, Rita Miller, Norma Diehl, Emma Durst, Wilma Watson; in-laws who he considered parents, Elmer and Mary Loar; brothers-in-law, Lee Loar and Wayne Loar.

Dale is a veteran of the Unites States Army and 372nd Military Police of Cresaptown where he served for 17 years. He served as lifetime member of the Clarysville Volunteer Fire Department and the Salisbury VFW #8826. Dale was also a member of the Vale Summit Methodist Church and Greenville Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years Judith Ann (Loar) Murray; daughter, Mary Ann (Murray) Kamp; son, Mark Murray; grandchildren, Dillon, Morgan, Kameron, Trever, Gavon, and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Aubree; siblings, Stella Delbrook, JoAnn Bingaman, Shirley Diehl, Doris Henessey, Bob Murray, and Sam Murray; brother-in-law, John Loar and wife Helen; sisters-in-law, Virginia Cecil, Carol Loar and Jackie Loar; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many great friends.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 12 noon to 2:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at Durst Funeral Home after the viewing with Rev. George Harpold officiating and music provided by Carol Loar.

Interment will be in Vale Summit Methodist Cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded by Salisbury VFW #8826 and American Legion #459.
