Evelyn Catherine Duckworth Brumage, 93, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born on January 31, 1922, in Westernport, MD, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Norris Duckworth.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Staten Brumage on January 12, 1982; sister, Naomi “Dutchie” Ayers; brothers, Willard, John, James and Richard Duckworth; daughter-in-law, Terri Brumage; sisters-in-law, Helen Duckworth and Retha Duckworth; granddaughter, Heather Louise Brumage.
Surviving are her daughters, Virginia Brumage, Lonaconing, Catherine and husband Fred Burkett, Newberry, FL, Mary and husband George Griffin, Cumberland and Nancy and husband Gary Burkett, Fairgo; son, Ernie Brumage and companion Marsha Lapore, Elkton, MD; grandchildren, John Burkett, Elizabeth Walsh, Carrie Garey, Stacie Athey, Christopher Brumage; great-grandchildren, Phoebe Burkett, Katy Burkett, Bridget Walsh, Sloane Walsh, Kieran Walsh, Caitlin Woodson, Wesley Athey, Ella Athey, Baline and Audrey Brumage; sister-in-law, Agatha “Tina” Duckworth; brother-in-law, John “Jack” Ayers.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD, on Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 2-6 pm.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 19, 2015, at 11:00 am with Pastor Tim Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.
