Carol J. Troutman, 90, of Mount Savage, passed away Tuesday, January 14. 2024, at Fahrney Keedy Home and Village.
Born July 31, 1943 in Mount Savage, MD to the late Woodrow Troutman and Thelma (Rizer) Troutman.
Carol was a graduate of Beall High School, State Teachers College at Frostburg State and Kent State University. She taught special education, science and mathematics at Clear Spring Junior High (Washington County Public Schools) in Maryland. Carol also taught mathematics and was the department chairperson at Wilbur Wright Junior High (Cleveland Public Schools) in Cleveland, Ohio until 1985.
Carol was an exceptional cook; known for her chocolate chip cookies while living on Buttercup Lane. When she wasn't cooking and sharing the treats generously, she could be found crafting. Carol loved to cross stitch and won several awards for her handiwork. She was an avid puzzler up until the day before she passed.She was kind, witty, intellectual and creative-but most importantly she was a loving daughter who fiercely took care of her parents until their deaths. Family was everything to her!
Surviving are her cousins, Sharon Chirgott (John) of Funkstown, MD, Dr. Albert Rizer (Jackie) of Orange Park, FL, and Julie Guethler of Rising Sun, MD.
A private family service was held. Interment was at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
