Carla Elizabeth Malloy passed away unexpectedly at her home early on April 23, 2023.
Born on February 25, 1947, she was the daughter of June (Van Horn) Stimmel and George Stimmel.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her siblings Carol D. Cooper and George W. (Billy) Stimmel.
Carla was a graduate of Fort Hill High School class of 1965. She worked as a nursing assistant at Sacred Heart Hospital until being married to Lawrence W. (Larry) Malloy and they spent 47 years of marriage together. She then became a stay-at-home mother where she wore more hats then could be counted. From mother to teacher to nurse then cop and warden to friend and confidant. Carla loved her job. She was a member at Davis Memorial Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a member of the Elks Lodge 470 Lady's Axillary, where she loved to gather with friends. Carla enjoyed planting flowers and tending to them. She loved to watch things grow and thrive. As everyone knows she was always there to lend a listening ear and give advice from her beautiful big heart whether you were ready to hear it or not. And after everything was fixed, or not, you knew you were getting a famous Carla hug. They had their way of making anything better. She was more than willing to help in any and every way possible. Carla was always there for all her children's events and activities. From scrapped knees to broken hearts, she would listen, assess, and go into action. Then as her kids grew and had kids of their own, she did the same for her grandchildren. MiMi as they called her held them close to her heart as she did with so many. Carla was a devoted wife, loving mother, compassionate grandmother, and sincere friend.
Survived by her husband Larry W. Malloy, children Jennifer R. Burriss and husband Jesse. Richard D. (Rick) Malloy and wife Kateasta. Darla D. (DeeDee) Malloy-Long and husband Rik. She also leaves behind her twin sister Darla J. Stimmel. As well as her beloved grandchildren Jordan and Juliana Burriss, Kylen Lee and Adelyn Malloy, William and Adria Long.
