Betty Rosalie Arnold, 81, of Frostburg, passed peacefully at home on Friday, March 1, 2024.
Born on October 2, 1942 in Loartown, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Webster Thornton (Mike) and Thelma Rose Capel.
Betty was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. A graduate of Beall High School in 1960, she attended beautician school, worked at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, and retired from the MVA. Betty also offered ceramics classes in her home. She enjoyed sewing, making numerous quilts for her children and grandchildren through the years. In the warmer months, you could find her in the garden tending to her flowers or on the back porch watching the birds, squirrels, and deer.
Betty is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 63 years, Harold W. Arnold; daughter, Shelley Preston and husband, Greg; son, Mark Arnold; daughter, Kelley Wolfe and husband, Doug; grandchildren, Keith Preston and wife, Corrie, Andrew Preston, Jarrett Wolfe, and Grant Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Kylie Preston and Wyatt Wolfe. She is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her family will always have fond memories of Gram’s home-cooked meals. No one made homemade noodles on the holidays like Bram.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren Keith, Andrew, Jarrett, Grant, Ethan, and Kylie. Wyatt will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family would like to thank Betty’s doctors and staff at UPMC for their exceptional care in recent months. We would also like to thank the First Responders who assisted with Betty.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Divine Mercy, St. Michael Parish, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 1 pm with Father Ed Hendricks as celebrant. Friends and Family will be received one hour prior to the mass from noon to 1 pm.
