Belinda Lavin

My beloved daughter, Belinda Jean Lavin, 62, of Frostburg passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital.

Born on June 7, 1960 in Frostburg she was the daughter of Norma Jean and Glen Lavin, Sr.

Preceding her in death are her father, Glen Lavin, Sr.; niece, Autumn Renee (Lavin) Cellbos; aunts, Christina Scruggins, Irene McCormick, Sue Ihaz and Uncle Jimmy Jones.

Belinda was a graduate of Beall High School and Allegany College of Maryland. She was a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International Omicron Delta Chapter and had certifications through the American Nurses Psychiatric and Mental Health. Belinda was previously employed for many years at Sacred Heart/UPMC Western MD hospitals as a registered nurse. Until retirement, she was also employed at several area nursing homes.

Belinda enjoyed gardening, reading and taking care of her feline fur babies, Prudence Marie, Baxter, Eliza Jane, Darwin Hall, Tobias Ray, Theodosia Mae and Hattie McBee.

Surviving are her loving mother, Norma Jean Lavin of Frostburg; three brothers, Glen Lavin Jr., (Cumberland), Gregory Lavin (South Carolina), Dwayne Lavin and wife Teri (Frostburg); nephews, Glenn Lavin III (LaVale), Jeremy Lavin and wife Laura (Frostburg), William Lavin and wife Melissa (South Carolina); and numerous great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a large family of aunts and uncles, from Frostburg, Beatrice Yutzy and Amelia "Jo" Finzel and from Ohio, Frances Starcher, Alice Umphrey, Uncle Charles and wife Pam Jones and numerous cousins. In addition to her family Belinda also leaves behind her special friends, Tammy, Roxanne, Anna, Mary Ellen and many more.

We know that Belinda will be up in heaven with her fur babies Tilly Fay and Macy Lynn. Fly high sweet angel! You will be missed.

At Belinda request she was cremated and no services will be held.
