Anna Minick

Anna Marie (Joyce) Minick , 88, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Egle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on September 9,1933, she was the daughter of the late William M. Joyce and C. Naomi (Cain) Joyce. She was married to the late James L. Minick in 1953, who died in 2019.

Mrs. Minick was a life-long member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Frostburg, now incorporated into the Divine Mercy Parish. She graduated from St. Michael School and Catholic Girls Central High School, Cumberland (class of 1951). Anna Marie completed an additional year of studies in business. She held positions as an office manager and bookkeeper. In later years, she was a sales associate at The Memory Shop on Frostburg’s Main Street.

Survivors are son Christopher J. Minick and his wife Lisa, of Lutherville, MD; daughter Debra Franklin and her husband John, also of Lutherville; sisters Naomi Smith of Baton Rouge, LA, and Patricia Lewis of Eckhart, MD; sisters-in-law Mary Margaret Shockey, Johnstown, PA, Lillian Konetzka, Bloomington, IN, Cecelia Sandifer, Culpepper, VA, Virginia Hostetler, Finzel MD, Judith Hummel, Urbana, IL and Rose Hutzell, Meyersdale, PA; brothers-in-law Ray Sandifer, Blaine Hostetler, John Hummel and Rodger Hutzell; grandchildren Thomas Franklin, Erin Minick and Joshua Minick; and many nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Divine Mercy Parish, St. Michael Church, 44 E. Main St., Frostburg, MD 21532.

The interment service will be private. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a future date.
