Allan Blaine George (Jum), 89, of Frostburg MD, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at home with family.

Allan was born March 18, 1936 in Garrett County to Melvin Philip Georg and Neva Evelyn Wilburn, both deceased, as well as a brother, William Georg.

Jum was a graduate of Northern High School where he played basketball and soccer. He was the president of his class and attended Boys State in Annapolis, MD. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served in Chicksands, England in the Intelligence Security Service. After three years in service, he returned to the United States to attend and later graduate from Frostburg State University. During his enrollment at FSU, Jum also played on the school's soccer team. In 1963, he began his graduate studies at Western Maryland College and then began his work with the Department of Social Services as a Caseworker. Jum then went on to work for Juvenile Services in Allegany County, MD. Upon retiring from Juvenile Services, he worked at Frostburg State University as a Supervisor of a Treatment/Rehabilitation program.

Jum was a member of the Frostburg Elks, American Legion, and the Myrtle Beach Moose Lodge. An avid golfer, he served as the President of the Board of Directors at Maplehurst Country Club for ten years and had the distinct accomplishment of scoring two "Hole-in-Ones". Jum also served as the Treasurer for the Friends of the Frostburg Library. He and his wife, Dana Kathryn (Browne), also enjoyed their retirement years being "SnowBirds" in Myrtle Beach, SC. Jum was also a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Frostburg, MD.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Dana George; son, Daniel Philip George, Lexington Park, MD; brother, Dennis Georg (Ginny), Frostburg, MD; sister, Ruth Kennedy (William), Frostburg, MD; sister-in-law, Veronica (Ronnie) Georg, Belair, MD; niece, Denise Kennedy Longest (Timothy), Garrett County, MD, and their children Nathaniel and Alexandra; nephew, Gregory Georg (Imelda), and their children, Steven and Kyra; and dear friends, Mary Jo Watkinson and Brian Michael Deffenbaugh, Frostburg, MD; Andrea and Leslie Dawson, Frostburg, MD; and Johna and Dale Williams, Frostburg, MD.

Serving as pallbearers will be William Kennedy, Dennis Georg, Dr. Ron Kealy, Brian Deffenbaugh, Matt DeCarlo, Butch Smith, John Krietzberg, and Dr. Timothy Longest.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 2 to 4 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Durst Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 29 at 12 Noon with an hour visitation before the service. Rev. Mark Molter will officiate the service. A reception will be held after the funeral services.

Donations can be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg Elks Lodge, and/or Save the Westernport Library.
