Albert (Ab) Earl Fisher, 92, of Frostburg passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Frostburg Assisted Living surrounded by his family.
He was born November 1, 1921 to the late Fred Fisher and Almeta Starkey Fisher Summers.
Ab was a graduate of Beall High School, and a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. He retired from the former ABL after 33 years. He was a member of Salem United Church, and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Agnes Fisher; two children, Allen Fisher and wife Juanita of Frostburg and Susan Johnson and husband Charlie of Cumberland. He also leaves behind “the apple of his eye”, his granddaughter, Kelly Thomas and husband Kenny of Friendsville. He is survived by two sisters, Ida Davis and Catherine Whetstone, both of Frostburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
“Dad you fought a tough fight for 18 months without a complaint. You truly were an amazing man and you will be greatly missed.”
A memorial service will be held at Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1pm. A viewing will be held on hour prior to the service with Rev. Dwayne Hay officiating.
Ab was cremated in accordance with his wishes.
The family wants to thank the staff at Frostburg Assisted Living for taking such thoughtful care of Ab during his stay.
